ETON URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL
A Bus Shelter at Eton Wick-Boveney Water Charges – Delay in Letting New Houses.
Mr. W. H. Rutter presided at the monthly meeting of the Eton Urban District Council, held at the Council Offices, on 2nd July. There were also present: The Vice-chairman (Mr. E. F. Mills), the Hon. Mrs. Butterwick, Mrs. Attlee, Messrs. R. J. W. Hartley, R. Weatherall, P. Ashby, R. R. Nason, A. B. Chew, H. Bunce, and A. Tar-rant, with the Clerk (M1. J. D. Gale) and the Surveyor (Mr E. F. Pressey). An apology for non-attendance was received from Mr. C. Mayes.
REBUILDING OF THE “COLLEGE ARMS”
The SURVEYOR said plans were submitted for the rebuilding of the “College Arms“, High Street, for Messrs. Nicholson & Sons. The plans were in accordance with the by-laws and had been referred to the County Council under the Ribbon Development Act.
ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS
Plans were submitted for the following alterations and additions:
Addition to an outbuilding at “Wheatbutts“, Eton Wick, for Mrs. E. L. Vaughan, as a wooden structure and recommended for approval as a temporary building; alterations to: “The Grapes“, Eton Wick, for Messrs. Meux’s Brewery; the boathouse, King Stable Street, Eton, for the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club, as a temporary building; alterations to “The Hop Garden“, “The Corner House, Westbury“, Cotton Hall House and Jourdelay’s Place for Eton College.
All the plans were approved with the exception of the alteration to the Eton Excelsior R.C. boathouse, the CHAIRMAN suggesting, and the Council concurring in the view, that the material to be used should be more information.
