Richmond and Twickenham Regatta
Considering the short time crews have been together, the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club, put up a very good performance at the above; the Junior Senior Eight beat Lensbury in their first heat, but lost to London in the second.
The Junior Senior Four beat Kingston in the heat but lost to Anglian in the final. This was a very good race which looked like a certain win for Eton; they led for three parts of the course, but then had to go round two steamers which came down during the race, this undoubtedly lost them the race by half a length.
The crews were as follows:—
JUNIOR SENIOR FOUR.—W. Brown (bow and steers), L. Parrett, W. Buck and V. Wood (str.)
JUNIOR SENIOR EIGHT.—E. T. Watson (bow), E. C. Smyth, J. B. V. Corps, J. Powell, D. Bond, V. H. Hobbs, J. Frampton, C. J. Harvey (str.), C. Hunt (cox).
