EERC Entries at Kingston Regattas

First Win of the Season

The Eton Excelsior Rowing Club sent two crews to the Kingston Regatta, and although unsuccessful were in each case beaten in their heats by the ultimate winners.  The crews were as follows:

Thames Cup IV:  L. Barrett (bow), D. A. Bond (2), F. W. Buck (3), V. A. C. Wood (str.).

Junior Senior Eight:  E. T. Watson (bow), V. H. Hobbs (2), F. A. Gurney (3), A. U. Shiach (4), J. Corps (5), J. B. Powell (6), J. B. Frampton (7), C. J. R. Harvey (str.), R. C. P. Hunt (cox).

At the Kingston Borough Regatta on Wednesday, the Eton Excelsior secured their first win this season by beating Lensbury R.C. by half a length in the heat and Quinton B.C. by half a length in the final.  The winning crew was: L. Barrett (bow), D. A. Pond (2), F. W. Buck (3), V. A. C. Wood (str.).

Molesey Regatta

The club will be represented by three crews at the Molesey Regatta tomorrow.  This is the first time for many years that two eights have been sent to the same regatta, and both stand a very good chance of winning.  The crews are as follows:

Thames Cup Four:  L. Barrett, D. Bond, F. Buck, V. Wood.

Junior Senior Eight:  E. Watson (bow), V. Hobbs, F. Gurney, A. Shiach, R. Mills, J. Powell, F. Frampton, C. Harvey (str.), R. Hunt (cox).
