THE “DEVEREUX” CUP
The E.E.R.C. held the annual four-oar race for the “Devereux” Cup (presented to the Club by the late Mr. E. C. Devereux in 1904) on 12th and 13th May.
Heat 1: Berks Station: J. M. Fraser, J. Lawson, A. J. Hill, J. N. Duxbury (str.), 1. Bucks Station: R. Almond, A. Jones, H. J. Shrimpton, J. G. White (str.), 2.
Won by 1¼ lengths in 4m. 48s.
Final: Bucks Station; Duxbury’s Crew, 1; Berks Station: L. S. Corby, Morgan, W. Fraser, T. G. Hill (str.), 2.
Won by 3 lengths in 4m. 41s.
Some very promising form was shown by some of the junior members, so a junior eight will now be formed to represent the Club at Reading Regatta.
