Presumed Killed
Sergt.-Pilot E. A. Blore
Reported missing after air operations a year ago yesterday, Sergt.-Pilot Eric Albert Blore, younger son of Mr. T. G. Blore, proprietor of the “White Heather” engineering works at Cippenham, is now presumed killed in action.
He was well known in the district, both as a successful stroke with the Eton Rowing Club, and as a first-class mechanic with some novel theories about motorcycle engines, which he planned to develop after the war. A deep-rooted passion for flying was born when, at the age of 10, he made a 7s. 6d. holiday flight in the Isle of Wight.
His death as a fighter pilot at the age of 21 will be mourned by a large circle of friends in Slough, Eton and Maidenhead, where he was educated at the County Secondary School.
