Another Win for Eton Excelsior Club

Representatives of the Tideway clubs were again in good form at Staines Amateur Regatta, which was held on Saturday.  Six of the 10 events on the card were won by Tideway clubs, Thames being the most successful in gaining three trophies.  The Thames “Grand” crew were opposed by a mixed London crew in their heat of the Seniors Eights and Thames were always masters of the situation, thus avenging their defeat at Molesey the previous week.  Eton Excelsior gained yet another victory in the Junior Fours.  Junior Sculls is of interest as it was the first time that Barclays Bank had been represented at an open regatta.  The results of the final heats were:-

JUNIOR FOURS: Eton Excelsior Rowing Club: E. T. Watson (bow), F. A. Gurney, J. B. Frampton, K. L. Huy (stroke) and H. J. W. Nicholls (cox), 1.  Tiffin’s School Boat Club (R. G. Brocken (bow), R. H. Baker, W. J. F. Mitchell. B. C. Appleton (stroke), B. G.
