The Rowing Club
The Eton Excelsior Rowing Club is one of the oldest on the Thames. This is its sixty-ninth year, but the war has hit it very hard. All the fit members joined up, and eight made the supreme sacrifice. Not only did the war bring the Club trouble, however, but the floods came and washed the boat raft away. The club has, therefore, got to make a fresh start and, phoenix-like, rise out of its own ashes.
