London R.C. have yet to be beaten for the head of the river title.

They have finished in that position each year since the championship was instituted in 1926, sharing the honour with Thames in 1927, when there was a dead heat.

It looks as if the senior tideway club will emulate, if not surpass, Cambridge’s record of wins in the Boat Race.

The champion’s win in 19 min. 41 sec., as against 20 min. 17 sec. last year, was a very decisive one, being 16 sec. better than that of Jesus College, Cambridge. who displaced Pembroke College, Cambridge as second, the later dropping to fifth place.  Thames again secured the third position, their second crew’s time being a second better than that of their first eight.  Trinity College, Dublin, who finished fourth 12 months ago, dropped to sixth place.

The Sandwich Division was headed by Caius College, Cambridge, who dropped from twentieth place in the First Division a year ago.

A popular win was that of Lensbury, in the Clinker Division, in which Corpus Christi, Cambridge, who finished twelfth in the First Division yesterday, were the winners last year.

Vesta III succeeded Quintin IV as winners of the Light Weight Clinker Section, thus keeping the honour on the tideway.
