EXCELSIOR ROWING CLUB AND THE JUBILEE
To the EDITOR of the EXPRESS
SIR, The Eton Excelsior Rowing Club has been asked to organize a River Carnival, in connection with the Jubilee celebrations, on Wednesday, 19th June, and they are holding a meeting on Monday next at 8 p.m. at the Guildhall, by kind permission of the Mayor, to make arrangements.
May I be allowed through the medium of your columns to say that any suggestions or anyone interested would be welcomed at this meeting.
The Club is anxious to meet the requirements of all tastes, and have arranged for the following: Dinghy, skiff, dongola and canoe races, and events for ladies, procession of decorated and illuminated boats. Details will be advertised later.
We hope a number of enthusiasts will attend.
