Devereux Fours
Owing to so many members winning their Juniors last year, only a small number were eligible for the above, two crews competing on Tuesday. The result was:- R. J. Arthurton (bow), J. B. V. Corps 2, C. F. Cumper 3, A. Sharratt stroke, L. H. Dismore cox, 1; E. H. Stubbs (bow), A. N. Gullick 2, R. R. Littlewood 3, C. J. Harvey stroke, R. C. P. Hunt cox, 2.
Sharratt’s crew, striking the faster stroke, soon drew away and won by 2½ lengths.
The race for the King Cup (presented by Mr. A. H. E. King), will be rowed on Wednesday and Thursday next at 8.15 over the same course.
