I have really enjoyed reading this fascinating book and have wished that it could have covered a wider area, including Old Windsor. It works well on two levels, firstly as a record of people, places and events during the war, and secondly as an overview of what it was like to live through the war in Ascot, Sunningdale and Sunninghill. It is such a pleasure when one finds a reference to a person or place one knows and I am full of admiration for the extensive research which went into the production of this book. I recommend it to anyone with an interest in this period especially if they know this neighbourhood.
