Derek Hunt is co-author of this book which tells the stories of the 310 Victoria Cross holders who attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace arranged by King George V to honour the surviving holders of the nation’s highest award for valour. Two of them, Harry Greenwood and Oliver Brooks were Windsor men. At the party the King recognised Oliver Brooks because he was working at the White Hart Hotel as a commissionaire and the two had regular chats.
The book is published by Naval and Military Press and is available in British Bookshops in Windsor for £9.95. ISBN 1847347126
