THE EXCELSIOR MAKE A START

Eton Excelsior, true to tradition, made a start to the new season on Good Friday when there was a gathering of members at the Club house and an Eight went up the river to Bovengy Lock. A number of members now with the Forces home on leave were among those at the reunion. Owing to the strong stream running, it was not possible to fix the Club raft in position, and the eight went afloat from the Eton College rafts. Latymer School, now evacuated to Slough, are going to row from the Club’s premises this summer and the Windsor County Boys’ School are also going to take up the sport and use the premises so there should be plenty of activity throughout the coming months.
