Eton Excelsior Regatta

An Unbeaten Record

From our correspondent

Eton Excelsior, the oldest up-river club on the Thames, held their annual regatta over Windsor Reach.

The Excelsior have had a record season, winning nine cups at regattas up and down river. Their eight was unbeaten throughout the season, and Mr. W. H. O. C. Boret, the Eton and Cambridge oarsman, who has trained the crews this summer, hopes they will be seen at Henley next year.

The open events attracted a large number of entries, the majority of the up-river clubs sending crews.

Unfortunately, in the open maiden fours the Excelsior crew got into trouble at the start, where they lost three lengths, and although making an excellent recovery, were beaten by Henley by a length. Excelsior won the junior fours easily, however. Details:—
