Elias Kupfermann

Windlesora 38 (2025)

Elias joined the Windsor Local History Group in 2006. He wrote his first article for our journal Windlesora in 2007 about John Ramsbottom, Banker, Brewer, MP and Freemason. There has not been a Windlesora since without an article by Elias. His articles showed his wide-ranging interest, from archaeology to modern history, but also a commitment to the Freemasons, and his Jewish background.

In 2010 he published his first volume called ‘Vanished Windsor’, with the help of members of the WLHG.

Elias was a passionate historian and researcher, and always willing to help any member with a question or inquiry, he would generally know where to find an answer, and he was happy to share information. The WLHG will miss his commitment to the Group, and the knowledge and interest he brought to every discussion.
